FourSquare Unveils its Blackberry App. Check it out.

Location based mobile applications appear to be the hot new area for growth in tech in 2010. FourSquare is  a mobile application that allows people to “check in” when they arrive at a certain spot, such as a restaurant.   The application is able to map locations near where you are located and will let you know if any of your friends are there.

FourSquare just announced that they are rolling out their mobile app for the BlackBerry, to go along with their applications for both the iPhone and Android based phones.

I highly recommend small businesses sign up for the free service.  In downtown Manhattan, as soon as I exited the subway on my way to my to the courthouse I clicked on the app and out came an offer from J & R music, only a few blocks away.  If you are an active user of Facebook and Twitter, you can sync the services together to find friends and potential customers right away.
