Please Support Road Recovery

by Fred Abramson on October 9, 2012

There is a big problem: too many of our teenagers are battling addiction. The solution: Road Recovery. The Law Office of Frederic R. Abramson supports Road Recovery.

Road Recovery is a non-profit organization consisting of music professionals mentoring at-risk youth through creative workshops, live concert events and recording projects. Road Recovery was founded in 1998 by former tour manager Gene Bowen (in recovery 20 years) and music manager/consultant Jack Bookbinder (a Diabetic Type II). Gene & Jack’s charity has received support from a wide range of entertainment industry superstars including Eric Clapton, James Hetfield, Slash, Ozzy & Sharon Osbourne, Tony Bennett, John Varvatos, Denis Leary and many others, while receiving support/recognition from the Office of National Drug Control Policy Executive Office of the President, Treatment Research Institute (Univ. of Pennsylvania), Dartmouth University, and programs with rehabilitation treatment facilities and respected institutions such as the Jewish Board of Family & Children Services, Green Chimneys, and Graham-Windham Services.

Co-Founder Jack Bookbinder is running 10 kilometers for Team Road Recovery to raise funds for scholarships that provide programs for youth battling addiction and other adversities in Road Recovery’s TRAXS Programs – NYC!!!   You can help support scholarships for these teens when Jack runs the Rock N Roll Marathon NYC 10K in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, on October 13, 2012. A tax-deductible donation in ANY amount would be much appreciated as it will directly support one of the many new financially needy kids trying to a change their life around.
